Basketball Recap: IMG Academy Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

While IMG Academy's win against DME Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The IMG Academy Ascenders narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the DME Academy - 54-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Ascenders have posted since December 21, 2024.

DME Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asya Lara Barnes, who shot 45% from the field on her way to 15 points. Those 15 points gave Barnes a new career-high. Another player making a difference was GiGi Battle, who posted 15 points.

IMG Academy's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for DME Academy, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 24-9.
