Caldwell hasn't had much luck against Emmett recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will host the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Caldwell turned things around against Payette on Saturday. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 9-4.

Khloe Arce and Rylie Felton made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Arce struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Felton didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Arce a new career-high. At bat, Arce scored a run while going 2-for-5, while Felton scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Caldwell let Kloe Fogle and Payton Garcia run wild. Fogle went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Garcia went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Garcia has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Makayla Curtis, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Caldwell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Emmett). Everything went their way against Columbia on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.
Natalie Goslin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Goslin was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ireland Riley, who scored five runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Lydia Andrews was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Caldwell's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Emmett, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-7.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Caldwell hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Emmett struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
