Baseball Recap: Frontier Comes Up Short

Frontier extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 6-8-1. They lost 9-1 to the Stockdale Mustangs. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 31, 2025, but that streak is no more.

Jaylen Tia made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run. Johnny Archuleta also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Stockdale, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-1. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Stockdale's side, Gabriel Borja made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Borja has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Stockdale let Charlie Ryder and Cooper Eberly run wild. Ryder got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Eberly got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Eberly is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Cooper, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

While Frontier had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
