The Gladiators took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 47-6 win over the Royals. The Gladiators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Jordan Calvin had an outrageously good game as he threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those three passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Steven Alexis helped Calvin out on the ground, rushing for 62 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
Gibbs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Juan Jones led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He has become a key player for Gibbs: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least one interception, but 1-5 otherwise. Jones got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Gibbs' victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Hollins, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
