Basketball Recap: North Shelby Takes a Loss

North Shelby lost against Westran back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The North Shelby Raiders lost to the Westran Hornets at home by a 69-54 margin. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hornets 23-19 in the first quarter.

Cooper Harvey went supernova for Westran, going 11 for 15 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Those 26 points gave Harvey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Black, who posted 11 points and five assists.

North Shelby's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Westran, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

After both having extra time off, North Shelby and Brashear will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Westran and Northeast will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th.
