Football Recap: Stone Memorial Extends Winning Streak to Three

Stone Memorial hadn't done well against Macon County recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Panthers walked away with a 34-27 victory over the Tigers. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly seven points.

It was another big night for Noah Potter, who threw for 315 yards and three TDs while completing 76% of his passes, and also rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown. Those 112 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Kyle Hinch was Potter's top target, picking up 96 receiving yards and three scores.

The win (which was Stone Memorial's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.3 points over those games. As for Macon County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Stone Memorial will square off against Livingston Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Macon County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Barren County at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
