Basketball Game Preview: Elmwood-Murdock Knights vs. Brownell Talbot Raiders

Elmwood-Murdock is 5-0 against Brownell Talbot since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. Both will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Elmwood-Murdock is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Logan View/Scribner-Snyder just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 40-35.

Elmwood-Murdock's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Annie Backemeyer, who went 9 of 16 on her way to 20 points and six rebounds, and Brooke Goudie, who posted five points along with six rebounds and three steals. Goudie is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Meanwhile, Brownell Talbot came up short against Concordia on Saturday and fell 36-25. The Raiders have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Elmwood-Murdock's record now sits at 5-3. As for Brownell Talbot, their record now sits at 4-4.

Elmwood-Murdock strolled past Brownell Talbot in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 60-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elmwood-Murdock since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
