Basketball Recap: Carver High School of Engineering & Science Takes a Loss

Carver High School of Engineering & Science lost against West Philadelphia back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Carver High School of Engineering & Science took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Philadelphia. While losing is never fun, Carver High School of Engineering & Science can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while West Philadelphia is ranked third).

When it comes to explaining why Carver High School of Engineering & Science lost, don't look at Billy Henighan. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-14 on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds. Henighan is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games he's played. Fareed Brown was another key player, putting up 15 points along with five assists and five boards.

West Philadelphia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Khabir Washington, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Smith, who scored 12 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Carver High School of Engineering & Science and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for West Philadelphia, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-35 win against Dock Mennonite on the 11th.
