Basketball Recap: Petoskey Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

On Tuesday, the Petoskey Northmen strolled past the St. Francis Gladiators with points to spare, taking the game 51-35. Given the Northmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Gladiators are ranked 492nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Petoskey is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for St. Francis, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Petoskey will head out to face off against Cadillac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cadillac will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Petoskey surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Francis, they will be playing at home against Marquette at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
