Baseball Recap: Vanden Gets the Win

After losing to Woodland Christian the last time they met, Vanden decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Vanden Vikings walked away with an 8-3 win over the Woodland Christian Cardinals on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Armstrong, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Cahalan, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Vanden back to even at 2-2. As for Woodland Christian, they moved to 3-1 with that defeat, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Coming up, Vanden will be playing at home against Roseville at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodland Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals face off against the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Woodland Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
