Basketball Recap: Janay Carter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Harvest Prep over Olentangy

On Tuesday, the Harvest Prep Warriors came up short against the Olentangy Braves and fell 66-59. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Braves are ranked 22nd).

Harvest Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Janay Carter, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points and three steals. Carter is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliyah Lofton, who posted 13 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Harvest Prep and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Olentangy, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harvest Prep will venture away from home to square off against Tri-Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Olentangy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Marysville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
