Football Recap: Eastern Piles Up the Points Against Wirt County

Eastern won the last time they faced Wirt County and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles claimed a resounding 47-13 win over the Tigers. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 516th in Ohio, while the Tigers are ranked 72nd in West Virginia).

Despite the loss, Wirt County still got an impressive performance from Tyler Smith, who threw for 187 yards and two TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Eastern has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Eastern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 22-21 defeat against South Gallia on the 5th. As for Wirt County, they have also already played their next game, a 47-12 win against Magnolia on the 5th.
