Basketball Recap: Montgomery County Eagles vs. Toombs County Bulldogs
Montgomery County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 72-37 loss at the hands of the Toombs County Bulldogs. The Eagles were down 63-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Leading Toombs County to victory were Mike Polke and Parker Stanley. Polke went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds, while Stanley dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. Polke also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Toombs County is 4-1 when he posts at least five steals, but 7-9 otherwise. Cornelius Bullard was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.
Montgomery County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Toombs County, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
