Basketball Game Preview: Bible Baptist Christian Wolves vs. Trinity Christian

After both having extra time off, the Bible Baptist Christian Wolves and Trinity Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bible Baptist Christian is looking for their season's first victory.

Bible Baptist Christian is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Patrick Henry Academy last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wolves were dealt a 45-16 loss at the hands of the Patriots. The Wolves were down 31-9 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Bible Baptist Christian got top-tier performance from Takeithra Hanna, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. That was a full 75% of the Wolves' points, marking the sixth time in a row Hanna has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Trinity Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for last Friday. They pulled ahead with a 36-35 photo finish over Coastal HomeSchool. The win continues a trend for Trinity Christian in their matchups with Coastal HomeSchool: they've now won four in a row.

Bible Baptist Christian better focus on containing Kelly Mills and Ryan Yancey as the pair were huge in Trinity Christian's win. Mills earned 17 points, while Yancey scored 15 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Yancey has scored at least a third of Trinity Christian's points.

Trinity Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Bible Baptist Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Bible Baptist Christian lost to Trinity Christian on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
