Baseball Recap: San Dieguito Academy Comes Up Short

San Dieguito Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley Center Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 last Wednesday.

San Dieguito Academy got a good showing from Kellen Feldhaus, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Feldhaus has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, San Dieguito Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Patrick Krenkler, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

San Dieguito Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Valley Center, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. San Dieguito Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Canyon Crest Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Valley Center will challenge rival Ramona at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Jaguars 3.2, the Bulldogs 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
