Basketball Recap: Scotland County Falls Short of Canton in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Scotland County can now relate to. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 62-43 to Canton. The defeat continues a trend for Scotland County in their meetings with Canton: they've now lost three in a row.

Canton was led to victory by Macy Glasgow and Kenna Oliver. Glasgow almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine boards, while Oliver posted 18 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The match was Oliver's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayse Uhlmeyer, who scored eight points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Scotland County's loss dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Canton, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Scotland County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-35 victory against Milan on the 1st.
