Basketball Game Preview: Rural Special Rebels vs. Maynard Tigers

The Rural Special Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Maynard Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rural Special knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Maynard likes a good challenge.

Rural Special heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Monday. They lost 75-55 to West Side. The Rebels' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Maynard came up short against Marked Tree on Saturday, falling 67-43. The Tigers have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Rural Special's loss dropped their record down to 28-6. As for Maynard, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

Everything went Rural Special's way against Maynard in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Rural Special made off with a 68-45 victory. Will Rural Special repeat their success, or does Maynard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
