The Classical Academy Titans will face off against the Discovery Canyon Thunder at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Classical Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.5 runs per game this season.
The Classical Academy's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Falcon hitters got past them. The Titans came up short against the Falcons on Tuesday, falling 17-7. It was the first time this season that the Titans let down their fans at home.
Zach Mediavilla made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Discovery Canyon made easy work of Liberty on Saturday and carried off an 11-4 victory. Considering the Thunder have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryan Egan looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Nate Singleton was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Seeley, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Discovery Canyon lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty didn't launched any home runs.
The Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Discovery Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. The Classical Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Discovery Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.7 home runs.
