Basketball Game Preview: Decatur Community Red Devils vs. Dundy County-Stratton Tigers

Decatur Community hasn't had much luck against Dundy County-Stratton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Decatur Community Red Devils will challenge the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers at 8:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Decatur Community didn't have too much trouble with Hitchcock County as they won 62-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.

Tyler Ostmeyer had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Gage Williby, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, Dundy County-Stratton put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Wauneta-Palisade 69-37. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Decatur Community better keep an eye on Lane Bybee. He was instrumental in Dundy County-Stratton's win, almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. Bybee is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Latta, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points along with six assists and four steals.

Dundy County-Stratton pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Decatur Community, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Decatur Community was dealt a bruising 64-19 loss at the hands of Dundy County-Stratton in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Can Decatur Community avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
