Basketball Recap: Abigail Purvis Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rancho Solano Prep, Anthem Prep was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Antelope Rams by a score of 36-23. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Anthem Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abigail Purvis, who posted 16 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Purvis a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Madi Hatfield, who had seven points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals.

Anthem Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Antelope, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Anthem Prep will host Maryvale Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Antelope, they will head out to square off against San Luis at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
