Softball Recap: Gouverneur Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gouverneur entered their tilt with St. Lawrence Central on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Larries get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Larries, too.

Not much got past Renisa Richards, who gave up just two hits and racked up 20 Ks to keep St. Lawrence Central off the board. Those 20 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Richards.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Arianna Wood, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Gouverneur's win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gouverneur will venture away from home to face off against Lowville at 10:00 a.m. on the 10th. As for St. Lawrence Central, they will head out to square off against Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
