Volleyball Recap: Mancos Comes Up Short

Mancos managed to slip by Montezuma-Cortez the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bluejays lost 3-0 to the Panthers on Tuesday. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-13.

Tinsley Aspromonte paced Mancos' offense, picking up eight kills. Aspromonte got some help from Tymbri Priestley and her 14 assists. Priestley also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lexi Lyons, each putting up three.

Mancos' defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Montezuma-Cortez, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Mancos has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Nucla on the 20th. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Cedaredge on the 20th.
