The Abington Heights Comets lost against the Delaware Valley Warriors last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Abington Heights was beaten by Delaware Valley 55-16. Abington Heights was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.
Abington Heights' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ethan Opeil, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown, and Kevin Schmidt who picked up 73 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Ryder Machado was his usual excellent self, rushing for 114 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. Justin Kalitsnik and his 133 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Delaware Valley's win.
Abington Heights' loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Delaware Valley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Abington Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Delaware Valley will play host again and welcome Whitehall, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Whitehall is ranked 40th, while Delaware Valley is ranked 52nd).
