Baseball Recap: Hauser Beats Morristown for Their Eighth Straight Victory

Hauser came tearing into Monday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Morristown Yellow Jackets with a sharp 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Jets, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Holden Pittman and R.J. Foster were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Pittman struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Foster tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. At the plate, Pittman got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run, while Foster went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hauser let Stryker Gill and Kameron Blair run wild. Gill went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs, while Blair went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Gill has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kase Meister, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Hauser pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Morristown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Hauser will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellow Jackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
