Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Marriotts Ridge

Marriotts Ridge entered their tilt with Long Reach on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Lightning by a score of 6-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Marriotts Ridge also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Liv Ober made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Ober was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Gianna Peluso was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Mackenzie Tasch was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Marriotts Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Long Reach, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Marriotts Ridge is set to square off against their familiar foe Glenelg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Marriotts Ridge 3.9, Glenelg 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Long Reach will challenge rival Hammond at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
