Basketball Recap: Wallkill Takes a Loss

If Wallkill was feeling good fresh off their 49-29 takedown of Liberty last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wallkill Panthers were beaten by the Roosevelt Presidents 56-29 on Friday. The Panthers have struggled against the Presidents recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Alex Marshall was Wallkill's leading scorer, having posted 13 points. Sean Petricek held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. George Avila took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wallkill fell to 2-1.

Coincidentally, Wallkill and Roosevelt will both be playing Saugerties the next time they take the court. Wallkill will host Saugerties at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Roosevelt will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
