Baseball Recap: Yucaipa's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Yucaipa unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fullerton Indians. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Yucaipa got a good showing from Blake McGilvary, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave McGilvary a new career-low.

At the plate, Yucaipa saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Franco, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Franco hit this season.

Yucaipa's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Fullerton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3-1.

Yucaipa has already played their next contest (against Pacifica), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Fullerton, they are taking a road trip to face off against San Clemente at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
