Basketball Recap: Yazoo City Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Yazoo City can now relate to. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pontotoc Warriors on Thursday. The Indians lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in February of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 82-37 score last time.

Yazoo City's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Pontotoc, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Yazoo City will face off against Booneville at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pontotoc does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
