Baseball Recap: East Ascension Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

East Ascension entered their tilt with Franklinton on Saturday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Franklinton Demons 11-4. Considering the Spartans have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kamden Snowden tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

At the plate, East Ascension got a massive performance out of Reed Truax, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Truax has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dawson Landry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

East Ascension hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive games.

East Ascension pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Franklinton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Looking ahead, East Ascension will head out on the road to face off against Covenant Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklinton, they will challenge Archbishop Hannan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
