Football Recap: Oconee County Warriors vs. Jefferson Dragons

Oconee County dropped to 6-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They took a 24-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson Dragons. Despite 58 more yards than the Dragons, the Warriors couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Brody Hannah and Mason Hall certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hannah threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns, while Hall picked up 151 receiving yards.

As for Jefferson, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.4 points on average over those games.

Jefferson can attribute much of their success to Colton Grant, who rushed for 22 yards and a pair of TDs.

Oconee County and Jefferson are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, the Warriors and Northwest Whitfield will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Jefferson, they will square off against Dougherty at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
