Volleyball Game Preview: Grantsburg Pirates vs. Bloomer Blackhawks

The Grantsburg Pirates will face off against the Bloomer Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Grantsburg sitting on 11 straight victories and Bloomer on three.

Grantsburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Everything went their way against Elk Mound as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Grantsburg was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-10, 25-22.

Grantsburg found their leader in freshman Eden Burkman, who had 16 digs and one assist. Burkman has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Bloomer earned a 3-1 victory over Unity on Saturday.

Bloomer had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-15.

Grantsburg's win bumped their record up to 29-6. As for Bloomer, their victory bumped their record up to 23-15.

Grantsburg beat Bloomer 2-0 in their previous matchup back in August. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Blackhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
