Softball Recap: Birmingham Comes Up Short

After flying high against Taft last Wednesday, Birmingham came back down to earth. The Patriots came up short against the Notre Dame (SO) Knights on Monday, falling 11-2. The Patriots have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Birmingham saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Gonzalez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Birmingham's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Notre Dame (SO), the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3.

Looking ahead, Birmingham will host Cleveland at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Notre Dame (SO), they will be playing at home against Sierra Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.6, the Trailblazers 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
