Cristo Rey Research Triangle was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carolina Friends apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Cristo Rey Research Triangle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Christian Gill. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Gill pulled down eight or more rebounds. Immanuel Holland was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Cristo Rey Research Triangle bumped their record down to 4-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Carolina Friends, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.
Cristo Rey Research Triangle will head out on the road to challenge Vance County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carolina Friends, they will be playing at home against Cresset Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
