It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Madison West ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Madison La Follette Lancers, sneaking past 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Regents have posted against the Lancers since April 28, 2022.

Madison West is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Madison La Follette, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Madison West is set to take on their familiar foe Sun Prairie East at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Madison La Follette will square off against rival Sun Prairie West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
