Basketball Recap: Pacific Sets Scoring Season-High Against Miller

Pacific scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 85-84 to the Miller Rebels. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (63), the Pirates still had to take the loss.

Pacific lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Maurice Fitzgerald, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 26 rebounds. With that strong performance, Fitzgerald is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Another player making a difference was Douglas Perez, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 assists.

Even though they lost, Pacific was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Pacific's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Miller, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pacific will head out to face off against Indian Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pacific has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Miller has already played their next game (against Entrepreneur), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
