Softball Recap: Breathitt County Comes Up Short

Breathitt County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to the Estill County Engineers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Engineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 on Wednesday.

Alexis Pelfrey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Breathitt County's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Estill County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

While Breathitt County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
