Baseball Recap: Viera Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Viera walked away with it. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Martin County Tigers on Saturday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-1 victory on Thursday.

Zak Al-Arashi was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Viera has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Martin County, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-10.

Coming up, Viera will head out to take on Bloomingdale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 3.8, the Bulls 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Martin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
