Soccer Game Preview: Edmonds-Woodway vs. Monroe

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Monroe Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Edmonds-Woodway's win against Lynnwood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Edmonds-Woodway skirted past Lynnwood 2-1. The victory continues a trend for Edmonds-Woodway in their matchups with Lynnwood: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Monroe put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Marysville Getchell as Monroe made off with a 4-1 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Edmonds-Woodway, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Edmonds-Woodway beat Monroe by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edmonds-Woodway since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
