Softball Recap: Community Vikings/Viqueens vs. Forrest Rockets
Community lost against Forrest back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Community Vikings/Viqueens fell victim to a tough 12-3 loss at the hands of the Forrest Rockets. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Community in their matchups with Forrest: they've now lost four in a row.
Gracie Daniel put in work no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (she also didn't allow any walks). Daniel was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Daniel wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anna Haskins, who went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI. Haskins has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Community's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Forrest, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Community will take on Blackman at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Forrest, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Riverdale at 5:30 p.m.
