Basketball Recap: Cactus Shadows Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Cactus Shadows had won two straight road games and Trey Chemin did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The Cactus Shadows Falcons came out on top against the Mesquite Wildcats by a score of 67-58 thanks in part to Chemin, who went 11-for-19 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Godfrey, who went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points and four steals. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Despite the loss, Mesquite still got an impressive performance from Marcus Ward, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 26 points. Another player making a difference was Kobe Bradley, who posted nine points.

Cactus Shadows is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Mesquite, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.

Cactus Shadows didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-55 win against Saguaro on the 13th. Mesquite does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
