Mt. Pleasant dropped down to 7-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 27-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lewis County Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 8-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Although Mt. Pleasant took the loss, they still got scores from Payton Niehaus and Jaylen Easterling.

As for Lewis County, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.4 points on average over those games.

Drew Ray produced another solid performance rushing for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 52 receiving yards and one score. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 67 yards.
