Basketball Recap: McDonald County Takes a Loss

McDonald County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 85-61 to the Aurora Houn Dawgs. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Houn Dawgs are ranked 102nd).

McDonald County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Aurora, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDonald County will venture away from home to challenge Mt. Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aurora, they will head out to take on Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamar has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 225 points over their last three matchups.
