Basketball Game Preview: Henrico Warriors vs. Atlee Raiders

The Henrico Warriors will take on the Atlee Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Henrico is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Highland Springs just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Springers 77-73.

Meanwhile, Atlee hadn't done well against Hanover recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Atlee enjoyed a cozy 59-44 victory over Hanover. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Hawks are ranked 150th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Atlee pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.2 points. As for Henrico, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Henrico was dealt a bruising 77-39 loss at the hands of Atlee in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Henrico avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
