Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rockingham County). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the McMichael Phoenix 50-18. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Luke Strittmatter, who rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 154 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rockingham County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Rockingham County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as James Thomas, Brady Ross, Marty Hester, and Noah Isley picked up one apiece.

Despite the loss, McMichael still got an impressive performance from Brayden Dalton, who picked up 102 receiving yards and one score. Ja'Keis Vernon got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Rockingham County picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for McMichael, they dropped their record down to 2-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
