Softball Recap: Crosby Triumphs

Crosby owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Dayton Broncos by a score of 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won four in a row.

Not much got past Tori Dahnke, who gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Dayton off the board. Dahnke has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Crosby saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Blackmon, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Crosby's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Dayton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 12-8 record.

Crosby and Dayton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Crosby will square off against Porter at 6:30 p.m. on Friday up 160 places (72 vs. 232). Meanwhile, Dayton (ranked 184th) will meet West Fork (ranked 523rd) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
