Baseball Recap: Cloquet Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cloquet and Denfeld meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Lumberjacks fell just short of the Hunters by a score of 3-2. If the Lumberjacks were looking for revenge after losing 13-2 to the Hunters when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cloquet has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Denfeld, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Hunters beat Cloquet by a score of 9-1 later that day.
