Maroa-Forsyth put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Riverton Hawks 56-0. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Hawks are ranked 454th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ryne Sheppard produced another solid performance throwing for 271 yards and six touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 37 yards. Another player making a difference was Zach Smith, who picked up 67 receiving yards and three TDs.

Maroa-Forsyth's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Riverton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Maroa-Forsyth will host Pittsfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverton, they will venture away from home to take on Pleasant Plains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
