Volleyball Recap: Caldwell Academy Takes a Loss

Caldwell Academy managed to slip by Calvary Day School the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Cougars on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Caldwell Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Caldwell Academy still got an impressive performance from Stella Streng, who had 15 digs and one assist. Streng has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Calvary Day School was led to victory by Reagan Reece and Katheryn Tate. Reece had seven digs and four aces, while Tate had 15 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Reece has posted over her last four contests.

Caldwell Academy's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Calvary Day School, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Caldwell Academy will take on rival Westchester Country Day at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Calvary Day School is set to face off against their familiar foe Greensboro Day School at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
