Softball Recap: Von Steuben Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Von Steuben strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 23-3 margin over the Lake View Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-1 on Wednesday.

Skye Rojek and Mina Krakovsky did most of the damage at the plate: Rojek went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI, while Krakovsky went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those four runs gave Rojek a new career-high. Grace Spreen was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Von Steuben was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .633. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Von Steuben's record now sits at 3-0. As for Lake View, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Von Steuben will head out to challenge Intrinsic Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.8 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lake View, they will head out on the road to square off against Juarez at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
