Basketball Recap: Covenant Life Extends Winning Streak to Four

Covenant Life entered their tilt with Mount Airy Christian Academy on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 57-47 victory over Mount Airy Christian Academy. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 57-55 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Covenant Life was led to victory by Elijah Hughes and Daniel Melendez. Hughes shot 50% from the field to rack up 31 points and six rebounds, while Melendez went 6-for-12 on his way to 20 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The matchup was Hughes' eighth in a row with at least 15 points. Yahel Arrey also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Covenant Life's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
